    put a brookville door on the drivers side . bad fit but eventually got it fitting well

  7. I think he burns them in with a TIG on the backside IIRC. Tom, Always great to see what you've been up to. How's the arm been feeling?

  9. Man, that is getting a '29 RPU cab the hard way!! Nice job saving it.
     
  10. I assembled the brookeville bed on my truck using the rivet and tig torch method. It actually works better than I thought it would. I clamped the panels tight, drill the hole, clean up the burrs, then I made an aluminum buck with a small dome machined into it to support the rivet head, clamp the buck to the panels with the rivet trapped inside tight, then just heat the shank of the rivet into a ball with the tig and then let it spill over onto the panel slightly and let it cool. If all goes well you put most of the heat into the rivet so it contracts when it cools and squeezes the panels together.
