If I recall, he had quite a few of those 59 El Camino in the yard. All had been mostly stripped.

1958 356. It's not traditional, but patina still rules.

    [IMG] Holy fucking shit!
Cannot be? 1937 Adler LeMans Rennlimousine?!? Factory competition coupe!
How on earth that hens teeth from the 3rd Reich motorsport waffen can rot on some Michigan back yard?
A war memory must be but still?
There are plenty of people in the old continent who would give their right arm for that gem...

  12. Yes. That car has been acquired and is either in the process or restored now.

Yes, these are all the same car. The "as-found" photos I took when I discovered the car and bought it out of the yard in Michigan. That's me in the green jacket. It is the actual Lemans #35 car pictured below which was black flagged in 1937, and won it's class and came in 7th overall at LeMans in 1938. You can see by the photo of it racing how advanced it was at the time. It has been restored and is now in a private collection in Europe. There is a controversy now over the car because the supposed family that owned it back during WWII claims it was stolen during the war and they are trying to reclaim it, so sadly it will probably not be displayed any time soon.
