View attachment 3004455 I always wonder about how many 32 Fords are still in existence...

It's hard to put a clear cut definition to "survivor"... but you know the cars...real old hot rods (or even stock!)...Ones still wearing 40+ year old paint and somehow managed to escape the various "fads" over the years.

  2. Well not a survivor hot rod, but was a complete original bone stock car when I got it, still has the original 1932 paint and mohair interior, was a 4 banger, under the drivers side sun visor was the last rego papers from 1959. Some pics as I got it and now, still has the same original paint and mohair interior.

Was untouched until about 2005, and then we hot-rodded it.

Just when you think there has been about every 32 thread title possible, a "survivor" one comes up. I can't get enough of this stuff.
    Good think'n Standard32.

I'd say any original 83 year old '32 Ford body is a survivor. My 3W was once a jalopy in So Cal, still had the holes in the a-pillors where the doors were bolted to the body. It sat in a back yard in Culver City for 30 plus years before the friend that I bought it from made it into a resto-rod. I bought the body in 1982 and finished it in 1986 driving my Dad to the LARS. In 1999 returning from the March Meet in Bakersfield a guy in a van ran into me and that inspired the current incarnation. We repaired all the rust, chopped the top and I LARS 2015.jpg painted it black lacquer. My original '32 Roadster was a California hot rod in the '40s and made its way to Michigan in the '60s where the owner attempted a restoration. Never completed and I bought the body and frame in 2006. It now is powered by a '57 283, '39 trans, Columbia 2-speed. Some are not easy or inexpensive to repair, but I think they're all worth putting back on the road.

Not quite as old of a survivor, but my 5W has 40+ year old paint and has pretty much been untouched since it was built in the early 70's. DSC_0501.JPG

as an 11 year old safety patrol...talked my dad into us buying her in 1972, been beatn' around in her and on her ever since. 13F9D104-BCD9-42B2-8AD6-3B3AC5E19901.jpeg 1D688B25-F714-46D1-B05D-EC4141582583.jpeg

Not really a survivor but an old hot rod with history, my coupe raced El Mirage in '41 in black lacquer, there was not much paint left after 75 years but definitely an old lead chop. My beater 5w...I bought the body from a man in his 80's that bought it in 1946 when he got out of the army. I know the paint is no newer than '46...

Here's my survivor "B". Owned since 1972. 33 K miles. Looking to upgrade to late model flathead as the original 4-cyl has cracked valve seat and won't hold coolant.

I bought this car body from Dick Spadaro about 15 years ago. I don't know anything about its history, but would love to find out something. Can anyone from the NY area provide any details? Other than the paint, an identifying feature is the '49 or '50 Ford license plate surround that was narrowed and grafted onto the taillight panel. It took me, and many friends, a few years to turn it into a running, driving car (see photos). It has been on the road for about 12 years. I did my best to maintain and enhance the look of the body as I received it. Survivor? It probably could be considered one. The parts certainly are. They are all old Ford. Nothing later than the F-100 steering box, plus a few odd bits like bolt on lower front shock mounts. The car is now in Seattle, WA. hotrodford 032.jpg hotrodford 033.jpg
