Event Coverage Ocean Park 2015

Its time for my annual Ocean Park Ford Show coverage. Finally got to meet Fedman and Fedwoman today, it was a real pleasure. On with the pics.

 

This car had a HAMB plaque on the firewall.

 

This '39 convert with merc hubcaps just knocked me out. Man, It looked good.

 

Time for the annual "resto-rod with a jag rear" post. I think this is one of Ron Fords cars?

I think the V8-60 midget is his as well?

 

These two are Hamber BCHRAguy's. I first saw his '39 fordor as his avatar and really liked it. I had a major brain fart, and didn't shoot an overall pic, didn't realize till I got home and checked my camera.

NICE 327/4 speed El Camino with redlines and Hurst wheels.

 

Another '39 Convert. This one looks like it has a 2" chop, the converts carry a mild chop off easier than the coupes, IMO.

Kind of a funny story here. If you have checked out my 1990's era greater Vancouver photo threads, you saw a pic of this car that I took in the mid nineties. I also posted a pic of it in my "Tom the Tire Guy" thread about three years back. Some may recall, I also posted a pic of a white and blue '34 Ford PU with Cragar Mach 8 wheels on it in the 2013 Ocean Park thread, and an orange coupe in the "40 ford 75th anniversary thread? So I've never met this guy before today, he is standing there, so I start talking to him about his '34 fordor, and how righteous it sits, the chop, and how perfect the wheel/tire combo is, and how I have shot a pic of it at least once every decade over the past 30 years. So we are talking about a new RP project he is working on and so on, and he starts whipping photos out of his wallet. First one is the white and blue '34 pu with the mach 8 wheels, then theres a few more, and then theres the orange '40 coupe I posted a pic of on the anniversary thread! It was a real "small world" moment.

 

You could call this a "legends of the Vancouver hot rod scene" twofer.

 

I think that's about it for this year. I missed a LOT, my camera battery was dying at the end. 29bowtie was there shooting pics as well, maybe he can add a few.

It was great to meet you guys too. Hope I didn't talk your ear off too badly. I get pretty enthusiastic about this stuff. We gotta get together again some time and swap some Bill Phillips stories.

Thanks Fuzzy. Sorry I missed you this year. I had an eye out for you, but it was pretty busy, and my camera battery was dying, so I was trying to shoot as many pics as fast as I could. That yellow mustang in your pic was pretty nice.

 

You know, I keep looking at kantspells car, thinking why does it look so clean?

Finally it dawned on me...None of those stupid Appleton spots! Nice job.
