I've been building on this thing since March of this year.
Started with a running driving car bought in Edgewood, NM. Drove it home.
Kept it in the "front garage" for about a year deciding just how I wanted this to go.
March of '13 I took it apart. BUT before that I built an intake for the banger just to see what it would do. It did HELP. In fact it ran much better than the 2 97's that came on the car. But that wasn't enough.;)
So now it's got a '65 Chevelle 300hp 327 with a DELTA driven 6-71 and the Muncie 4 speed from the same car.:D We narrowed a 9" from a '62 t-bird, it's got BIG brakes to go along with the 45 fin Buick aluminum drums on the '34 axle dropped by 296V8. Hairpins, ladder bars, boxed stock frame, '56 Chevy steering column, blue or green metalflake steering wheel (i can't decide which one goes with the body paint). A full compliment of circa '62-'3 Aqua Meter gauges, front wheels are from a '55-'6 F100, rears are not finalized yet. A hanging pedal setup from Ansen with the 60ish GMC master cylinder.
I've been trying to keep everything '65 and older, hell, even the 1850's still have the factory ink stamp and are dated '64.
I'm looking for some early 60's air cleaners, I've got an unmatched pair....check that, i got another to match one of the other ones so now ive got three.
    Anyway there it is.
    Comments welcome............

when i bought it it had a Thomas aluminum head, Riley 2-97 intake, the Riley side cover, Mallory distributor, and i know nothing about the insides. as i said i drove it home from edgewood, that's about 40 miles along old route 66. it kept up with traffic no problem, the hills were no problem, but it was a bit finniky (sp?) to start. then all i changed was the intake and carb. WAY easier to start, and it would pull MUTCH better in all gears. Frankly, i was a bit supprised at how much differance it made. It still wasn't enough, :)

Nice looking build! If it's getting painted wheels, I'd probably choose body color myself.

quick update, this is how it sits right now. gotta check a few more things, then the body comes off again and do the finishing/painting. HOPING it'll be a running driving car by the end of January 2014.

Cycle fenders are just a, "hmm, how's that gonna look", so far. But if I do the cycle fenders, bobbed stock rear fenders will be in order. They are stainless, spare tire, cover band, cut at 180 degrees.

    little bit of progress.
on another thread i talked/wondered out loud, about a shifter for the Muncie four speed.
I sold the Munchie, and got a 60's Mustang wide ratio TopLoader 4 speed, and a couple of T176 top shift shifter mechanisms. That will put the shifter in the "correct" place. So hot rodding at it's best? chevy engine, ford 4 speed, jeep shifter, in an A.

Tranny is done and in the car !!
I think the top shifter conversion is the "tits".
Put the shifter in the correct place.

wow, i haven't updated this thread for a while, LOL.
anyway, it's ALMOST a running driving car. I tried to get it all done by Father's day.
Gonna miss that. Ran outta money for the driveshaft, and some "littleStuff". so the new date is 4th of July weekend.
Frame is powder coated gloss black, Buick brakes on the front are all done ready to go, T-bird brakes with Lincoln aluminum drums on the rear are ready to go, the Mustang top loader is all rebuilt and installed with the Jeep top shift conversion, the 9" is also all rebuilt and installed, I did back off on the engine a little. In the car now is a .060 over 283 with 2.02/1.60 double hump heads, all forged rotating assembly, Z28 sized cam. The aluminum radiator and the water pump riser have been heat dispersant coated. I found an aluminum Chevy 6 water pump, the thing should run pretty cool temp wise.
I'm thinking/hoping the car should go/stop/turn/start, and be dependable.

it's done, (yeah, right, they are never done). anyway i drove it to a car show in EDGEWOOD, NM this last Sunday. (interesting note, I bought the car in Edgewood and this is it's first time out, kind of a 'round trip). Anyway it was a small show and the car managed to get Best Ford. Hmm.....I'm very happy with the response the car got. And the best part, it's a blast to drive!! IMG_0078.jpg
