So this t10 came out of my 33... It's been in there since the 70's. It's behind my 289 ford. Can you guys help me identify it. I looked online and can't find anything to match my tail shaft. Mine seems to be longer. I always had trouble with my shifter sticking. So now I'm looking to just buy a brand new hurst ( $500 ouch) once I figured what type of t10 I have. Thanks. 6. I think it's a garden variety early cast iron T-10 from behind an FE.

So basically a stock t10 from an early FE like a 352? Anyone know if hurst makes a kit for a FE t10?

  8. If the tailshaft housing is 17" long, the trans is from a full-size Ford/Mercury (galaxy, etc). If it's 15.5" long, it's from a '63-65 Fairlane. This should determine which linkage kit and mounting bracket you need (shift rod/arms), what shift lever style you use is up to you. Yours has the early narrow bellhousing pattern, so that dates it to '62-64, assuming it's all original. Summit (but not Jegs) lists these shifters, but call first....

That bellhousing is awesome...really early stuff there..

  10. With 28 spline output shaft, it's probably pre 1964. Should be able to decode the casting date.

Yep.. Looks like a 17" tail shaft. Seems like a unique mounting surface compared to other t10's hope hurst makes a kit for it. Looks like I will be calling summit first thing in the morning.

With the shifter mounting boss up close to the reverse lever it looks like a falcon t-10 hurst shifter for 63.5-65 will work on it. The falcon had the boss in the tail housing up further than the mustang and fairlane. Just a suggestion.

  13. It;s been a while,,60 years,, but it looks like my '63 Falcon stuff. Had one of those bellhousings too, it's a 5 bolt motor.
SCTA approved too, at Bonneville in '65.

thats not a falcon trans its a full size trans

  15. Looks like the same transmission that was in my 63 1/2 Falcon Sprint,it's in my '65 Ford truck now. HRP

doyoulikesleds.....I wasn't implying that it was a falcon transmission but that it looks like my falcon T10 hurst shifter would fit the bill for the shifter he needs with the mounting boss being forward like that of a falcon tailhousing. That tailhousing looks too long for a falcon but the shifter mounting does not. Sorry for the confusion.

shifter mounts higher and farther forward on a falcon full sized cars are in the middle and mustangs mount the farthest back if you get a falcon shifter and linkage set you will have to make it fit

So the best I could find was on hurst shifter website. Like you guys said it appears to be a large ford (Galaxy) around a 64. On the hurst identification page it matches the "411". The bad part is that it cost almost 600!! Ouch.

  22. Unfortunately, the used one appears to be missing the mounting bracket, and the rebuild doesn't have the shift rods....

this is the t-10 out of a 63 falcon that is going in my 64 falcon. the linkage kit is no longer made by hurst.

I picked up this full hurst kit with shifter and linkage
hurst.setup.JPG I was looking at the linkage setup but the only one that is out is for the muncie t10 but would be cool to make one like that for the ford t10s...for us spirted drivers haha
