This is Day Of The Drags weekend here in central Texas, and Friday night is test-n-tune ahead of the main event on Saturday. Gotta go, right? So... plans were made. I climbed into the sedan, met Joyo in his beautiful roadster a little north of Austin, and then the two of us met Reggie in Weir, TX. From there it was bitchin' Texas summer evening backroads to the Little River speedway. Got to see El Jefe get his rail dialed in, and we even leveraged Joyo's charging system issues into a roadside photo op. Some pics below -
Thanks a lot for the pictures. It looks like a real blast. Last year we had 15 cars on a days trip of about 135 miles each way. Had a great time. Looks like you did too. For Christmas, my wife got me one of those GoPro cameras. Now, I just need to figure out how to get the videos from the camera to the computor.
Enjoyed the pics Blake, just like a River City run with just the 3 of you. One of your shots you could nearly check out Joyo's ear!! interesting that he's running a spare tire rear spreader on his roadster . Never seen that done before. I'm running a luggage rack spreader on my coupe.
Thanks for the kind words, fellas. SWIFTY - great to hear from you! The Austin guys do a fairly good job of finding reasons to drive the hot rods. This weekend there just happened to be a drag racing event, but it could just as easily have been a craving for a cheeseburger and homemade peach ice cream from Fredericksburg, TX... always via the back roads! To that point, I'm wondering if I should use that spare tire mount on my sedan so I can actually carry a spare!
