My first new car was a 1957 super chief pontiac -4 barrel carb, duel exhaust.beat the fastest 56 and 57 chevys around, also beat j-3 57 olds.about got into fights over it running so good, but it was stock from the factory, just kept tuned up.A wonderful car and I was 17,a wonderful age.Glad to see you building the Pontiac.

That Canadian Sedan Delivery looks awfully like a rebadged Chevrolet to me.

Those Safari wagons are really nice. I watched one deteriorate for years in a guy's yard in Galena Park TX... not for sale.

  13. I have a dozen or so '55-'57s. Most are parts cars but, i have one of each year i have set aside for restoration for my Pontiac Museum I am working on.

    '55 is a 2dr ht Chieftain
'56 is a 2dr wagon converted to a panel delivery
    '57 is a 2dr sedan Chieftain.

    Thanks Darryl!

yeah i bought it because i love the look of it just how it is, i only put the wheels on it temporarily to take it to a show a couple of day after it arrived here because the ones it came on wouldnt hold air. i didnt think they'd suit it at all but how wrong i was! unfortunately they have to go back on the riviera because i'm selling it, i may well look out for another set though...

Can a chevy floor be installed in a pontiac? Have a 55 pontiac needing a a floor and am having trouble finding it. Seems like if,the top, doors and glass are the same, that the floor would be the same length and width. Any suggestions?

My '55 Safari. Need to get some cones on the chrome reverse, and an altitude adjustment is in the works.

I've been looking for a 57 post for a long time and finally found one to my liking. I've only owned this a couple months and have made a few changes to make it my own. I installed 2.5" lowered uprights and blocked the rear 1.5", installed chrome reverse as well as 9" pie crust cheater slicks & new exhaust. Car has a Pontiac 400 backed by a TH350. Now it's time to enjoy and make a few minor additions along the way.
