I will post the "before" photos of the body (as it was when I got it) tonight. It was very rough and Jeb put a ton of work into it to bring it back to the point it is at now.
These are a few photos of the body when I bought it. It was a combination of bare metal, lead patches and some primer spots. It was rough and the work done to it in its past was even rougher. It had been channeled and chopped poorly and all of the work had to be re-done. The car looked like it had been worked on in a field with tools that you might use to repair a tractor. The photos tell the rest of the story. This is what Jeb had to work with when he started. Its amazing that he was able to bring it back to what it is today.
So as you see here the car was a real "turd". Jeb took on this project a little over 5 years ago and worked on it in between his other high profile projects. I have a bunch of photos of these other really famous builds by Jeb with my little turd-window lurking in the background. In the time he had this car in his shop he also built these: Another really nice 5-window. I can't put my hands on the photos but I will hunt for them and post if I can find them. The Frank Lockhart Stutz Blackhawk replica for Jim Latin. See it here: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/...hawk-special-to-debut-at-long-beach-motorama/ The "Spirit of Munro" for Polaris (Indian Motorcycles)> See it here: http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/stories/munro-streamliner-photos He just completed another bike for Indian Motorcycles that may not have been released to the public yet. Look for it on the web soon. Jeb Scolman is one hell of a skilled guy. He gets a little grumpy from time to time, but who wouldn't trying to save a pile like this 5-window body. Thanks Jeb.
Almost had a '65/66 Mustang-ish tail light pattern ..... yeah I know ... "Eeeeeek !" ... but I have seen them mounted that way. True 'dat.
holy shit bubba...I thought my coupe body was bad...yours would make me think twice...can't wait to see after pics
Another great project in the works. As for the previous tail lights, I would bet on 64-66 mustang as well...I never understood why so many mustang tail lights found their way onto hot rods.
The mock up has begun! A few shots of the fancy assed fuel delivery system that Keith put together including filter, pump, and regulator! And finally, a shot of the bitchin old rear spreader bar that came with the car... I love this thing.
I love this thing but I'm wondering who'll be the first one to burn their head on the exhaust pipe, trying to read that fuel pressure gauge?
Great work by Keith, as always! I'm sure he's used that same fuel filter more than once, but I couldn't get mine (same) to quit leaking. Ended up using one similar to this: http://hotrodparts.com/rollsbentleyparts/fuel_filter.htm
That bitchen old spreader bar happens to be an original luggage bar.....the goddamn hardest to find '32 part there is! It's the only factory straight spreader bar (with a little variance to that story).
That spreader bar didn't come with the car, in fact it was a long search to find it, but I really like the look of these.
