Anyone know if these tops/frames are available of the shelf.....seamstress I'm not and good stitchers are rare in these parts. I think I may have read somewhere a '32 top will fit A's. Any truth to that? Looking to do one for my '29. I believe this is Mark Mortons '32. Really like that look.
Took a 1000.00 set of stainless top bows and cut them up to get the right shape I wanted. http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/ac277/FuzzyKnight28/DSCN0674_zpso4avhfqb.jpg
I cut the original top irons and bows on an original 32 roadster I had.I took 3.5" out of the hight, shortened the two irons that go to the screen header .The top bows were cut and shortened by drilling and fitting a dowel pin with glue.I got as far as covering it all with 2" masking tape and it looked awesome.....I sold the car before I got a top stitched up.
I put a bop top on my 32 hiboy. Didn't like the way it fit the body sides at all. Also don't like the cheap round tubing. Then I needed a top for my 32 full fendered rdstr. Looked at different tops at shows and talked to owners and chose a rod top from Michigan. I picked Chad's Rod Top cause the irons look more like og parts and fit the rear body like a glove.Very happy with it. I bought the side curtains with it. Price was not much more than the other top.
Top notch. IMO Rod Tops is the best. After hauling my 26 RPU to Their Michigan shop last summer and having the top custom made for it, I am of the belief that they are the only way to go. A very nice top indeed.
