Well I finished my roadster a couple of months ago, I had every intention of closing the shed door for a year or two, but, well it's winter here, not to much kid stuff going on and definitely not roadster weather. Boredom quickly set in and the better half told me to go do something in the shed but don't spend any money, who am to argue. I've had this old coupe body for a couple of years, it needs the usual, floor, lower patches etc. Got a good frame, been collecting bits and pieces for this build for a while, halibrand, A rear crossmember and spring, 36 bones and axle tubes, nice wishbone and un dropped axle, r/h drive 33 spindles, steering box and pitman arm/draglink. I've been a little undecided on the running gear, swaying between an early chev or flathead, transmission etc. I've decided to go flathead, though still deciding on trans, 5 speed or stick with early top loader. Either way it will stay torque tube to a quickchange. First order of business today was clearing enough room in the shed, it's a tight squeeze but I should have enough room, over the next few weeks I'll start getting a few things mocked up, splice in the rear crossmember and decide on trans choice and get the frame rolling. This ones going to be a slow build, I'll get onto it when time allows. Hopefully by starting this thread it provides motivation. Anyway here's a few pics from today, cheers, thommo.
... and don't spend any money she says .... lol Me thinks the planet of car enthusiasts would be agog with the luck of finding a woman of soul, as you obviously have. That's quite a wallet laying there in your shed. Good for you, and bless the wife ! ! ! Lucky guy you.
Always good to see another build! As for roadster weather, in my part of the country it's a good time, nice sunny days and you don't get fried!
Looks like this should be fun to watch.....Very nice group of parts also....Signed up to follow you on this.
Nice to see a 'complete' Deuce grill shell, not shaved and filled. Good luck and good fun with the 33. Davo.
A wife that tells you to go in the garage? Does she have a younger single sister by any chance? This is going to be a sweet build.. What wheels are you thinking about running?
Nice collection of cars and parts! Will follow this build for sure, like Rocky says, take lots of photos.
