Man I'm so pumped to see this when you get back to brissy! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php?threads/My '47 3W Dodge build..960954/ My build.
love the grille and the light(s) on these vehicle(s) ... really nice build in what you have envisioned =0)
Big upheavel knieval, lost my job in Perth and had to get the 39 back to Brisbane. A nervous week of worrying about chains and ratchet straps breaking in the container. . . phew. Home safely. "There's no place like home. There's no place like home."
Bummer. Does the loss of your job in Perth create a hardship for you to work on the '39, or free you up to complete it more rapidly?
I'm not down. New frontiers are always on the horizon. Money will be tight. But I've got here already on a shoestring. Just keep pushing ahead alittle everyday. Still smiling
Wishing the best for you CadMad. You have a great project going and I hope you find the resources to carry on with it soon.
Hi Q.... Sorry to hear about your job my next door neighbor : electrican in the WA mines: has just got notice as well will be home in 2 weeks with no job in sight!!!!! On a better note dont you just love the front sheet metal and grill of a 39 Caddy
Car's looking great man! If you're really in need of a job you'll get one up here! We're looking for someone like yourself, and we just got a power hammer!
Also sorry to hear about the loss of your job ( been there, done that too). Try to retain that positive attitude; you will be back on line in no time.. Meanwhile, keep plugging away on that gorgeous Caddy; twill be good therapy! (And with your skills, you won't need to spend much cashola..)
Well some good news on the work front. Picked up some good welding and fabricating work from an architect who seems to have a few creative ideas and hopefully once he gets to see what I can do he can keep the work rolling in. My son Preston and my mate Paul came over and I managed to get a pic with some people in it and proportions look good. In the meantime I got the Frank Burrel intake in the mail from Michigan and my good mate Jason found a couple of Carter carbs and I'm trying to figure how to get the gear box back in. I really need a 4 post hoist. Good problems to have.
Time for a bit of an update. Lots of little dtails like getting the conv roof header and rear bow detail srted. Also tidied up the backseat area with bolsters and repadded the seat which I hope to recover next.
I don't mind baring my soul here . . . cos confession is good for the soul right? My 50th birthday tomorrow. The last few months have been a bit of a rollercoaster and I suspect there are a few twists and turns to come, but I have a few really good mates who have been great support. They know who they are. Anyhow, I have been playing with these old Cads for 30years. Let's hope I have another fun 30. . . .if only to finish some of these bloody projects!!
... yes sir. Happy happy! Glad ya' made it ... on all fronts, by the way. Challenge and change are golden things while on this side of the dirt. Congratulations to you.
you, Cadmad, should have another 250 years to do what your skills tell you what to do.. all the best, your build is way out of line. just fantastic. and by being consulted by Rik nothing can go wrong. He's such a talent regarding building custom cars, and you, Sir, are one of the best performers. Cheers, Carsten Happy Birthday to downunder!!!
There is no such thing as a free lunch. But the beautiful girls at the coffee shop made sure that there is such thing as a free coffee !
Out of the shed and across town to my mate's workshop. I forgot how good it looks even sitting on the trailer. After weeks of drought ,of course it rained mid journey. Hoping to have it running and stopping soon. . . .and with glass and a top soonerer.
