Projects First drive

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by ric, May 15, 2015.

  1. After a long and arduous build, my '32 roadster is on the road. Took a maiden voyage out to China Camp on the SF Bay. My buddy Brandon's 5 window and my Bro's T roadster pickup joined me. Some teething problems to work out but nothing catastrophic. I am really bad about taking progress pics and posting any sort of build thread, and I apologize for that. Some of you guys really do an outstanding job. Anyway basic specs are a B-ville body, SBC, Richmond T-10 4 speed, Winters QC, Buick drums with Lincoln brakes in front, 3 carbs, etc. my basic hot rod wish list. Plan is to work out the bugs and head to Santa Maria next weekend. Stoked. IMG_2535 copy.jpg IMG_2538 copy.jpg

Right on man! That looks way cool. The best part of a hot rod is that you're never done working on it.

  3. Always a great feeling on the first ride.

    Got video?

Great roadster. Sure wouldn't mind seeing more pics of the 5 window.

  18. So I took the car down to Santa Maria, about 600 miles round trip. Ran like a clock !
So here is the start in Corte Madera, the 5 window and T roadster pick up seen earlier, '41 Ford convert, '57 Ford sedan and a T tub.

Disaster strikes, but not my car ! Mortally wounded '41 sits waiting for tow back home. Chucked the generator pulley into the rad fan which then ate the radiator. Driver rides shotgun with me for rest of journey.

Always my favorite view......driving over the Golden Gate Bridge, heading south.

Power parking at the hotel in Santa Maria, we made it down.

    Hey ric---
How did your Richmond 4 speed behave, curious because I have one for my roadster.
    Happy for ya man.

  25. DDDenny,
Richmond working great so far, only issue is with the (used) Hurst comp shifter but I think a little tweaking on the adjustment got that worked out. Seems to make a lot of gear noise when idling in neutral but I have no cover over it, just the floor cut out around it, need to make trans/bellhousing cover for the floor still. I'm assuming that is just normal trans noise you don't normally hear.
