After a long hiatus, I'm back. Both on the HAMB and into the custom / hot rod stuff. It's been too long and I'm having withdrawal. I used to have a '53 Pontiac (avatar), '60 Starliner, '54 olds, '54 chevy panel truck, '53 victoria, '63 lemans and some others. Sold them all to get an OT Pantera. The only old stuff I kept were my two '36 fords. A humpback sedan and a 5W coupe and enough parts to build both. My budget doesn't allow the 5W to be built just yet. It will be a '59 390 cadillac w/ 4spd '60s type hot-rod build and I don't want to cut any corners on that one so... The sedan is my focus right now, plus it will fit the family. It will be a budget build and a learning experience for me. I usually have built 50's -60's cars and the pre-war stuff will be new to me for the most part. Enough talk... pictures..
You will find the earlier cars are less complicated than the 50's & 60's cars,or at least it was with me. Looks like a good start. HRP
Thanks HRP, unfortunately it isn't at this stage now. A while back I took the body off the check out the frame and I didn't like what I found. In hindsight, I should have just fixed what was wrong, but I sold the frame in that pic and found another starting point. Here's what the suspension looked like on that frame.
With the help of some friends, We've made a little progress. Body is just in primer, no filler or body work yet, so I am pretty please at how solid this car is.
Those regulators look like, as pictured, top two 34 to 40 sedan rear, the ones with 3 gears I think are 37 and maybe 38,39 front door, could be 36 front door also? The bottom one looks to be from a earlier truck or perhaps a 40? Just google a year Ford regulator and click images, should see enough pics to have a good idea.
Just a harbor freight style sand blaster and aluminum oxide. It didn't have much paint to begin with.
