I have a 63 Comet. I'm putting a windshield in it. The gasket is on and I went to install the trim and the pillar sides have no grooves for the trim pieces. Is this something I need to cut in it or do I have the wrong gasket? Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds like you have the wrong gasket.

I have no idea what I did but I signed in with my email address and my name and avatar were changed. I'm the original poster for this thread. I logged out and used my username and all was ok

  4. I'm thinking the gasket is for a convertible: The side trim wraps around the pillar and screwed in to hold it in place. Therefore, not needing a groove.

The gasket should have a grove in it for the trim.. The smooth gasket is for without trim...
