Hot Rods 32 Roadster Body - a new approach. AKA Beetledeuce

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by english gent, Sep 30, 2014.

  1. I have no idea why but I can see the pick on my Lap Top but not my iPad. Maybe try using a different device if you can't see the pics.

Great work. It really inspires me to what to build my own body for my next car.

Awesome...the work is second only to the creativity.

  3. Hey Gent,
You need to find a way to sign this work of art
when you are finished with it!
And If you should ever combine all your great
photos with a narrative on cd, you've got a how-to
    for the ages!
And maybe you could sell it!

I just explored this thread for the first time, and it's amazing! Your vision, imagination, and skill are all remarkable.

You've mentioned that your cast pewter reveals are "hollowed out". Are you incorporating a core in your mold, so that the cast part is hollow right out of the mold, or are you manually removing material from the back side after the casting has been made?

    Thanks Tony,
I've been thinking about producing some kind of build manual or guide with measurements and drawings as well as photos if there is enough demand for it.

The mould incorporates a core so that the parts are hollow straight from the mould. I didn't want the work of hollowing out the castings after.

He might be putting together that triumph headed motor, or harvesting rubber in the amazon to pour his own tires right now so he can surprise us with a finished car?

I hit a wall (not literally), when everything else caught up with me and the roadster took a backseat. I guess this happens to most of us building something in our spare time.
I've gotta find some time in the next couple of weeks to push on with it.
Bear with me guys, it will get done!

I've really enjoyed seeing the creativity way you have built this roadster. HRP

Now that you hit a wall, what are you going to make out of it?
