Hi all, I'm looking for some info on a bucket that has caught my eye.

    Who built it?

    What year?

    What is the color combo?

    Anyone have more pics?

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping to get my Bucket project going soon, if my luck holds out.

I have an old Rod Action, or Street Rodder, or some other magazine with that car in it. Not sure who the owner is, but someone on here will know.

Built by Tom Booth. All chrome Vette injected SBC. Torsion bars inside rails. That pic is in the book Hot Rods by Pete and Jake.

  6. Looks like a late 60's or early 70's build. Popular color then was candy tangerine. This one appears to have some gold along with it. I hope you are able to find out what you need. Tim

Thank you guys! Awesome info. This one caught my eye and I can't stop looking at the pic. It is like Gene Chan's T to me. That one is burned into my mind and is in a file saved back for when I start building. This one, just burned a spot into my brain and I can't stop looking at it.

What is the deal with the white pips? I kind of dig that.

You mean white pipes? Hi temp header paint was introduced about 1964, for a while white headers were the thing.

That makes sense and look cool on this bucket. Also it might give me a timeline or it might be one that had a few things changed over some time.

White headers were popular on such cars through the 60s and 70s. The VHT paint didn't discolor like chrome and if they got greasy and stained you just gave them another coat of paint.

Is it a common thing being done today on hot rods and traditional cars? I'm not sure I have seen a new build with white pipes that are on a traditional car.

The front wheels are also throwing me off as I thought it was late 60's to early part of the 70's.

Do the front wheels look a little wider to you guys then what are seen on the fad T's?

In my humble opinion JACAB: just ask Chip about buckets!
@need louvers ? knows a lot about them.

Go look at the bucket of ugly thread, a lot of good info. Maybe is "your" car there.

I have not bugged Chip in a while but I need to again. I have a couple of questions on T Bucket steering. I have to admit Chip always has the answers and is quick with them and always spot on.

Yeah, I saw that about HAMB (URGER) and was like now that is just to cool. I like how the sign is like a hidden message to all gear heads and hot rodders. Its like flashing, telling us all to head on over to the HAMB.

Alterpilot, thank you! I will look and see if I can find that issue online or on ebay.

I need to try and see if I can get a better look at the torsion bar setup.
