Hot Rods Will a T-5 Trans fit in a 41 Chevy Convertible?

Trying to figure out the drivetrain before I commit and move forward.

    Here's the plan so far... A later 235 (55-62) with an open-drive rear-end.

I really like the idea of a T-5 from an S-10 but I'm not sure if it will fit in the convertible frame being that space is limited for transmission swaps. Any ideas?

  3. Modify the frame/trans mount. Just about all of us have to do that anyway. Tim

Use a S-10 T5 from a V6 model truck, somewhere around a 3.50 or 3.75:1 first gear, maybe a 3.50:1 rear ratio. The shifter will come out of the floor around 6" in front of the seat. Use a late '50's truck bell housing, so you have mounts at the rear of the engine, and a separate mount at the rear of the trans. K6

  5. S10 4x4 rear end will fit nice in the 41 along with 235/t5 combo!

Thanks for all your replies. I was worried I would run into problems being that there limited space on the convertible frame. I try to upload pics soon.
