I have a 1959 f-100 and recently my radiator cracked while I was driving and will cost to much to replace. So, now I need to find a replacement and getting one from LMC will cost around $500 and that will hurt my wallet to much at the moment. I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I have access to a radiator that goes to a 1963 f-100 292 y-block for cheap and wanted to know if I can use this one instead. The only real difference I seem to notice, minus checking the fit, is that the lower radiator hose from each truck connects to a different spot (left vs right) on their respective radiators. Assuming the fit works, can I exchange the 59 radiator with the 63, and make a longer lower radiator hose to make it work? Will I be able to achieve the same cooling effect and not have to worry about obstruction from having a longer lower radiator hose? Thanks in advance.
If you want a newer radiator, look for one out of 70's F150. That's what I used in my 56. I know your building a 59. Do a search on the Ford Truck Enth. site. A lot of good specific info there also.
You can get a nice new all aluminum rad on e-bay delivered for about 159.00 Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
My 60 F100 (with a 302) has one of the $159 aluminum radiators, per the previous caretaker. it seems to fit fine.
