  2. Did the tornado tear off a facade that revealed the original front?

Yes. Several antique and consignment type shops were housed in that building. I suspect only the old timers knew about the dealership. It was bricked over 60+ years ago.

Some of the front windows look to have been service or display bays.

  8. F-one: I've been to a place called Southern Accents in Cullman, is this near there?

I looked it up and Yes Southern Accents is down town very close to where these two twisters came through. I f look at the photos you can see the main twister has a little satellite twister with it.
That day one nearly hit downtown Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Blountsville and Pell City. Twisters did hit Cullman and Hackleburg downtown.
The same storm hit Tuscaloosa and Hackleburg. At Tuscaloosa it was rated F-4 by the new rating (old F-5) at Hackleburg it increased to F-5. Removing even the grass and top layers of soil. A big un.

Before the Interstate system was completed. I drove from Huntsville to Birmingham 1 to 3 or more times a week I must have driven by this place close to a thousand times. Never knew it was in that location. Thank you for the thread.. Bobby.
