If I had to guess I would say I nearly doubled it from the worn out motor.... I would guess more than 150 HP

I can climb the mountain from my parents place to my place in top gear the whole way now!!! My 400 cid v8 powered tow rig can't even do that with out bogging down to 35 MPH (79 f-350 4x4).

Nice, any pictures of the engine?

Love your two trucks BTW...great threads. The OD/black 2-tone looks the best.

Luckily i was able to hammer it back out pretty well.

I hate deer.....first my 56 this summer then my f1.....guess that is one of the risks you take when you drive old stuff daily.

    As a side note....

The guy i built the orange truck for has me starting on his next car.....i am trying to convince him to take a traditional path on it....wish me luck

I decided to see what all the fuss was about and put a 283 in my truck to see if it would be faster....it made it slower....so i chucked a 265 to......slower still.

Did help with traction in the snow though!!!! IMG_20150220_114934.jpg

I have been clearing out an old garage for a friend. My truck has hauled 5+ tons out in sub zero weather with no priblems at all this week. The new engine pulls the mountain with a load like a small v8!!!!!

That is a fantastic truck, and a great story.

The look is so clean, a DIY daily driver that is a true budget build.

Thanks for posting, it gives me clarity for my project.

The truck tried really hard to kill me and my daughters this weekend... The ball stud in the steeing arm decided to pull up though after hitting a bad patch of milled up road in a contruction zone. Aka no steering whatsoever. We were going 15 mph and i was luckily able to stop it without hitting anything. It didnt take much to fix it but man that was scarry!!!!

I got it fixed before i had to haul our equipment down to our gig.

I finally got around to putting actual paint on the fenders. It wouldnt fit in my garage so had to spray in the back yard. KIMG1195.JPG
