Whenever I see a statement like the above I naturally wonder how much of the "good ole days" they experienced personally. If your g.o.d.s were when you were a kid then I say , lucky you, because the adults at the time were likely struggling to keep"it" together, while you had no serious worries. Maybe Alteimers is relief for folks who would welcome the chance to empty out all the memories of all that crap they had to experience after childhood.

Cool photo, easy to forget how many venues midgets used to run...they ran in the Rose Bowl in the late '40s and my wife remembers them running at the high school stadium by the Douglas Aircraft plant in Long Beach...

 

I was born in 48, I never realized how much my family didn't have until the mid 70's, sometimes these pictures make me cringe when I realize that could be me. - What my parents went thru in the 30/40's affected me, I passed on what I went thru to my daughter and she to my Grandson, he helped me get a 46 coupe out of a garage back lot when he was 5 - After I put the jack under the axle he jacked it up and after I broke the lug nuts loose he took them off - He's into old cars now, he's 23

 

Must have been 'vette day at the drags, cool photo! (I'm guessing that the guy in the TR-3 [or whatever it is] is wishing he had picked another day at the drags!)

These guys have painted scenes from Seattle to advertise the coming Elks convention on this Chrysler sedan.


Gilmore gas station, e. Pasadena...Miller Tire sign...both brands long since gone.



Back in those days (early '30s), you dressed up in your finest and posed in front of your can in front of your house...this looks like north Pasadena or Altadena.

Market Basket on N. Lake...I once sacked groceries at the Market Basket in Temple City...another brand long gone.


Moon roadster...not only did this guy dress up (complete with hat, standard wear in those days), but he got the family dog (or at least someone's dog) to pose with him


And if you owned a Pierce Arrow, you had the chauffer pose with you




Remember when they had "used cars" instead of "pre-owned vehicles"?
