Hello, Hopefully I am posting this to the correct area of the forum. I did a search and did not find what i was looking for. Have not been on for a long while, looking for some info on lowering a 39 Buick special. Nothing to radical just feel like it needs to come down a little bit. Can I just modify the springs all the way around, or do I need to completely revamp the suspension to get it to sit a couple inches lower?
Remove a coil or two in the front and some leaves in the back? How much time and effort and $$. What else is done to the car?
You can also try a search on this Buick pre war site has a lot of different input . http://forums.aaca.org/f165/
Rear on a 39 Buick special is coil sprung with an early form of truck arm type suspension- the springs are quite long so they should be able to be cut a coil or two. The front is also coil springs, you could also use 15 inch wheels in place of the 16 in stock wheels.
