    I used metal cut from the roof of a parted out VW squareback.
    Good German steel and it had just the right amount of crown to match the bottom 5" of my '40 GMC/Chevy doors.
    Your template is good, When I chopped the top on mine I found the left and right contours from the door jamb the the back window were far from the same, (about 3/8" different radius!) so I made one for each side.

    tacked into position and ready to hang the door on the cab for a test fit for gapping before we go any further.
