SOLD/DELETE 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88 2 door hardtop. One owner California car still in the original owner's name. Nicely optioned.. power steering, brakes, antenna, wonderbar radio (with foot switch), rear speaker, heater, tinted glass, and 3.64 gears. Had dealer installed ac, which I removed. Nice survivor. The car was sitting in a San Diego garage since 1984 when I found it. I have all regestrations dating back to the begining, and several maintenance receipts from the original owner. All the expensive parts have been rebuilt/replaced. The motor is a rebuilt 1964/394 Ultra High Compression block with rebuilt (original) 59 heads/intake, and carb (I do have the original 394 block). The original Jetaway was completely rebuilt. The original Tradle-Vac (and entire brake system) was compleltey rebuilt. The fuel system was completely rebuilt from tank to Carburator (including lines, and fuel pump). The generator, and starter were also rebuilt. New battery. New belts/hoses, tune up/points, fluids.. everything. I upgraded the wheels to (5) 15 inch GM, and put new tires all around (including the spare). The rims were sandblasted, etch primed, and professionally shot gloss black. While the motor was out the entire engine compartment was detailed. The exterior still wears the original paint. Has the selling dealer "Colonial Olds" license plate bracket. There are several small dents and sctaches throughout the body. The left fender needs a patch panel, and one in front of the rear wheel. trunk lid has a dent, right rear corner has a dent, the right rocker has a crease (missing right rocker molding have left). There are other small imperfections from age. I would consider the body a solid driver. Nothing is out of the ordinary for the year, and nothing is hidden. The interior is 100% original, and survived well over the years. There are a few rips in the cloth. There are some stress cracks in the dash, and steering wheel. Carpet needs to be replaced. Headliner is similar to my 62 Starfire, and though the boards are good the spray foam is long gone. All glass is original, and good (no cracks). The antenna sounds like it works, but the mast does not move. The radio does not work (will check fuse), and fuel gauge always reads full. Everything else works as it should. The car is a nice driver which can drive anywhere without worry. I documented everything I did to the car both in pics, and recipts.
