I traced the serial number, and it was build & sold in So Cal. No telling where it was from 1947 'til 1985 though.

This car rocks! It's an oddball, but that makes it fun.
But it's obviously a serious car as well.
    Best of both worlds, IMO.

To me all of these cars are a piece of art. Just vision of someones dream .... and not in a field going to he'll!

My '48 won the "Modified Mopar" class last weekend at the big local area annual car show. There were only two Mopar classes - stock and modified, unlike the Fords and Chevys that seemed to have a separate class for every three years of every model ever produced. I couldn't believe mine won over all the modified Challengers, Chargers, Barracudas, Hemis, you name it.

The great part - the second place guy had an early 50s Mopar.

    Old school rules !

Here's another Plymouth that was on the field - the guy who brought it did all the work (7" chop !) himself, and was justifiable proud of his work. He and I are both over 6' tall and fit in his rod with head room to spare. This guy has serious skills. I thought he should have won the class.

You are probably right, if I squint my eyes, I can visualize it as a roadster, that would show the British how to make a classy looking Post War sports car ...3"section, raise the wheel arches, add Hemi...

Well that's far more than I'd imagined, but it would be a lot of metalwork to keep you busy. ;)

I'm wondering what it'd look like with the headlights shaved off smooth & new hidden (flip-over) rectangular lights in the grille?

Doesn't matter how hard I squint my eyes now, I can't make that modification work for me...
