I did some searches and didnt find much of what i was looking for. I'm working on deciding on a chop amount and I'd like to hear from guys with chopped coupes. Mines channeled 4" so the head room is minimal. The seats are set on the floor as low as they'll go. I'm thinking 2 1/2 in the front and 2 in the back. I'm not a tall dude 5- 8" so for me there's not much of an issue. I just want other taller friends to be able to ride too. Any feedback or guidance is greatly appreciated, pics are even better Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
4" is livable if you take out the package tray and slide the seat back, but at 5'11" I fit albeit cramped and leg against shifter. Traffic lights suck to see. Sure looks cool though.
Uh, I don't think the coupe in your avatar has an 8" chop It would be great if more guys would offer pics of their examples instead of just spouting numbers please.
theres a billion pics out there. dont shed a tear. heres a link. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/want-to-see-your-chopped-model-a.218724/
DFW31 chop or dont chop and build the car the way YOU want it, dont build or do anything to convenience anyone else its YOUR car not theirs build it to fit you and no one else
Any amount will make it look better in my opinion, I would go 3.5-4". I chopped mine almost 6" but it not channeled.
I recently traded for a 30 Mod. A coupe, channeled about 2" and chopped 4". it's not easy to see out of. I would recommend 2" max. if that's yours in the pics, I'd leave it alone.
I love your car man, I follow you on the gram. But ain't no way in hell it's going down 8". Im assuming you're being sarcastic lol My biggest thing is that I love to actually be able to drive my car. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It's not channeled at all, my car would not be drivable drivable Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
4" is a number that I'd like but I think it just might be too aggressive. Again, I drive my car a lot and i want to maintain some comfort Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks for the photochop though man, it really does look killer Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
More pictures and height of driver references would be great as well. Maybe even stories of regret with too much of a chop? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is a 2"chop. I'm 5'10" tall, regular seat height, works well for me, 6'4" grandson can't fit in it. Front view is good, lights are tuff, car is not channeled.
The photos I posted are indeed my coupe. Ones got Instagram filters on it Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That's really what im looking for, a balance. Thanks bud for the compliments Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
3 inch max. Any more looks stepped on or squashed in my opinion. Building my 31 with 7 inch channel no chop. East coast style. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I totally agree with you but I do want a balance of comfort and aggressiveness Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thank you sir, I would have agreed with you a few months back but there have just been more and more moments when I see it Nd think "yeah I want to chop it." Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
If not its cool, but you think you could put a 3" on the one of my pics of the front view? I know it's not the photoshop thread but hey you started it! Haha Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
