Are Gene and the Moonlighter still going to be at Knoxville this Saturday?

Who else will be there from Southeast Gassers?

Here's the hardware the South East Gassers brought back from the Meltdown Drags. Plus Cassandra Hicks won the title of Miss Meltdown. DSC04153.JPG DSC04157.JPG 10494837_10203348884415583_8582575066488093050_n.jpg

That's some of that "Yankee ingenuity" we keep hearing about........it's really a pretty neat trophy.

  9. Thanks for the pictures Frank. Good to see Gene at work. Thats what made him so dangerous not only is he a master of the tree but he understands and builds his own engines. Reminds me of another guy like him that they are recognizing at indy this year. Bob Glidden. Just imagine what a little sponsorship would have done.

Wow when you said Gene built his engines, I didn't realize he did all the machine work also! Very Impressive.
We hope to see the moonlighter crew again at the meltdowns next year.

Myself and Patricia will be back at Knoxville Dragstrip Saturday with our rainchecks. Looking at the forecast there, it looks like the good Lord may decide watering the plants is more important than a bunch of old racecars. We will just have to cross our fingers again.

Thanks for the quick heads up. Were were getting pretty "pumped" about Saturday, but putting the race off for better weather is probably a good thing since the Gassers have to tow pretty far to get to Knoxville. Sure they didn't want to chance a second rain out.

Sorry to have to post this but the race at Knoxville has been cancelled this Saturday. There is a 60 to 70% chance of rain Friday Saturday and Sunday. Most all of us have at least a 3 1/2 hour drive and others have 6 hours. Some fan's were coming from several hours also. We was really looking forward to showing Knoxville what a true Gasser race was like but it won't happen this week end. We plan to reschedule but don't have a date yet.

  18. Our good friends at Morley Performance (St Louis, MO) made those up, and they're awesome!

Just like the good ol' days, Gene has a best 2 out of 3 match race tomorrow with old friend Jimmy Findley in his "Snake Bite" mustang at Ware Shoals dragway.

Hope Gene did well today at Ware Shoals. My Moonlighter t-shirts visited Willimantic, Connecticut, and Dallas, Salt Lake City, and Casper, Wyoming this week. I got to tell some folks about the car and this thread, maybe some of them will get their own shirts. Frank, could you or someone else post some video?

Gene won the 1st round and lost the 2nd round. Unfortunately the Moonlighter wasn't able to make the 3rd round because of water pump problems. Videos will be posted later.

The match race appeared to be a promo for next weekends South East Gassers race there.

Frank ... do you know if the "Snake Bite" complies with Quain's rules, and will be running with the group? Gene has a score to even with Jimmy next weekend. lol

Jimmy's car is pretty close to South East Gasser specs. I don't thing anybody is 100%, not even Quain! It's all fun.
