Today a friend came over with his new 28 Roadster. Last year it had a Tudor body and a Model A Engine, Today it has a Roadster body and a 32 for cylinder B engine. Love it
Mr.42, a couple questions, did your friend put a V8 trans behind the B motor or is it still the original? He seemed to make a pretty fast shift going away....second question, did you notice how exactly he has his tail light / tag set up mounted to the body? Was it a shortened stock tail light mount? Thanks for the cool pics, neat car.
What a cool reminder of the fun I had with my '29 coupe with the stock drivetrain back in 1959. However, the "need for speed" soon had me building an av8 while working for my grandfather over the summer between my junior and senior year. I used the engine out of the '47 school bus that I rode to school on my first day of first grade and drove the car to finish high school and the first 2 years of college. Frank
The gearbox is the 32 gearbox that followed with the engine, as I understand have he taken off 6 kg of the flywheel. And added two carbs and a "high" compression standard looking aluminium head. I think the rear axle is from same 32. Have not thought about the tail light will take a look next time I meet him.
I could just see myself driving that beast till all four were riding on cords. Any chance he would let someone bower it for oh say a couple years? "Listen Mr... It ain't broke if I can't fix it"
