    I would think a t5 from an s10 pickup with a 4.3 v6 would be the easyest

Yes they bolt up. I think it has to be a 4.3 v6 though. Best of luck to you

The 4.3 is a small block minus 2 cylinders, so the retrofit should be minimal.
I would look for a 1988 through 1995 two wheel drive.

4.3 would be fun turbo motor in your nova. Like the typhoon/cyclone engines. I think all the bell housings paterns were designed to be the same with all the transmissions on the v8/4.3v6. Th350/400/700r4 all the 4le trans and the t5 and muncies. Lots of options. Maybe go with a close ratio 4 speed? You do have a 3.08 rear gear.

  7. t5 out of a camaro will bolt in, s10 has different input shaft spline so you will need different clutch disc.

I think McLeod is only clutches. My buddy mike did there commercial in the 80's with his 64 nova. The car is now owned by cousin and sports a 498 and runs 9's. Still a super clean car.
License plate reads 64 avon. What trans are you running now? Maybe find a person looking to trade?

Look at an 1997-2002 S10 NV3500 5speed from a 4.3 V6. The shifter is on the tailshaft which would be more suited for a Nova. The gear ratio for the S-10 is more suitable then the same trans from a C-10. It has an itegral bell housing and will bolt right up.

There is a ton of info on this swap on Steves Nova site...
The S-10 trans provides a better shifter postion than the Camaro or Mustang versions iirc.

Quite a few people blow them up with aggressive driving but it might live in a relatively light, skinny tired Chevy II.
I am considering this swap for my 63 vert...
