Drug this home last weekend. It's been a street rod since the 70's. It is wearing several old paint jobs. It's complete, has a steel and a glass front end, some spare parts and some parts I don't want and will be selling. Definitely needs the street rod knocked off it. Needs some TLC, needs the steering sorted out (has a new Speedway Motors front suspension kit but they didn't get the Vega box located correctly) and it has street rod style radius rods in the back that need to be changed to ladder bars for my tastes. Also has a GM metric rearend that needs to go to somebody else's house. It has a 350/350 combo in it but they are leaving. Looking for a good period correct engine/tranny combo. It won't be Chevy powered, nothing else around here is. Headed for E/T Team III "Altered" rear wheels and Rocket "Fuel" skinnies on the front. The rear wheel wells will be cut and a new lip added. Enjoy your day. SPark
Lucky you!! Always loved those Henry J gassers. Wish I could find one like that. Guess I'll just keep plugging away on my 55 Ford gasser. Have fun and good luck with it. Ron
My first Henry J cost me 50 bux, it had a Blair's speed shop tube axle, and real straight body, My last J looked like it should run 10's but mumbled thru the traps turning 13, save Yourself from that and go Hemi right from the start, and have fun I love those J's. Von Doc
Great Find! Are you keeping the stock rear fender arches or are you going to radius them? I am keeping my stock but that's just me.
Cutting the rear wheelwells. Have a couple other projects in front of this one to get running first so plenty of time to plan and gather. Have a '62 F100 short uni with a 410 8V/C6/Industrial Chassis front Dakota kit to get done first. Also have a '69-1/2 Maverick Pro Stock clone with a 351C/toploader/9" so the Henry gets to sit and watch the action for a little while
These pics just reminded me of when the Mavericks first came out, an old guy in my town told me he thought they looked like a Henry J. Blue
Scored a nice pair of 15x3.5 slots this weekend with a nearly new pair of Pro Trac 5.60x15 tires. The slots are for the Maverick and the 5.60's will be on the Henry.
Picked up a nice 302/5.0 roller block this week and a finned aluminum oil pan last weekend. Already have an Enderle finned aluminum timing cover and Edelbrock old school valve covers lying around. Also have a set of '64 - 289 heads with the crap ported out of them, big stainless valves, screw in studs, guide plates, roller rockers, dual roller springs and moly retainers left over from my dirt track days. Looks like an engine choice has probably been made.
