I've done a search on this. I found a picture of a tach like mine that showed the wire locations on the back but when I hooked mine up, it didn't work as it should. It goes to 4000 and moves a little with rpm increase
First picture is the one i found on google. The other 2 are my acutely tach. Mine doesn't have the cylinder selection but I pulled this tach from a 69 ford fire truck so I know it's a v8 tach and it worked on that truck. I didn't fine a sender of any sort ... Should it have one?

That appears to be a RC50 Sun Tach which requires a EB9A transmitter. If you google RC50 you will find the wiring diagram with the transmitter. The transmitters determined the cylinders a EB7A was used for the 6 cylinder the 9 for a 8 cyimder.
