    Since I was born (way) after 65, and is a non US native, this might be me that dont get this, but here goes;

Was 3w more classy or was the 5w?
    When new that is.
And what was the most cool cars to own, as a hot rod?

Is the 3w more a race/track/lake/drag car, and the 5w is for looking cool on the street?

I can see the clear difference between them, and yes I can see one has 5windoes and one has 3windows, but I like them both.

It just wants to know more. B)

3-window coupes were the sports models, 5-window coupes were more of the business type. The 3-windows were always (and still are) considered the most desirable. However, I myself much prefer the looks of the 5-windows. The major difference for most folks is the 3-windows cost more, something like a 2dr vs a 4dr on later cars. So, if you were on a budget you worked with what you could get ahold of. I think historically anyone who had the money would have gone with the 3-window, but again not me!!

  3. Any Deuce is cool, the 3 window is considered the one to have by many, they are easier to get in and out of with the suicide doors that are much longer but for me I prefer the 5 window, they just look more hot roddy to me. HRP

Fords first 3 window ,the '32 was built for them by the Murray body company; as opposed to their own in house built 5 window. For style it's just a matter of taste. I'm a little biased , but I like both of them ;myself.

That's true on the 32s, but on the 34s both the 3w and 5w are suicide doors, and I agree that the 5ws looks more like a Hot Rod ether year! Most likely because I grew up around the poor folks!

Ford introduced the 3w as a Ladies car, so they could enter and egress elegantly without spreading their legs apart.

My '32 that i bought in '65. i would rather have had a 3 window. But i kept this one for 33 years. So i guess I liked it just fine.

Actually the Ford 3W had a very short production life, '32-'36. Just five years. Put that into perspective - these days a car wouldn't even change a bit over a five year production span. 1932-36 wizzed by just as fast as 2009-14 just did!

It all depends on the build there are a lot of great looking 3Windows, but there are some 5Windows that are real head turners too, Some day I'll have a '32 Vicky. Bob

  13. 5 window for sure

  14. I used to prefer the 3 window Deluxe coupe but there are so many imposters out there now that all look alike that I am glad I got "stuck" with the old standard 5 window.

I'm prejudiced, since I'm building a '36 3w, but I've wanted one of them since I was 12-years-old. Now it's a race to see if I'll finish it before I die............:)

I like questions that don't have an answer. Ask a "Vette Guy", who owns a '79 Corvette, what year was the best. I'll bet ya even money he says 1979.

  17. I really like them both but prefer the 5 window for its hot roddy looks as HOTRODPRIMER said earlier.....:D

  18. I have a 34 5W but prefer my roadster. Just something about an open air car.

  19. 3w was the Deluxe Coupe. The 5w the Standard.

  20. I agree! the 5 window looks like a Hot Rod! The 3 windows reminds me too much of a 33/34 IMO

To me the top of the windows look so much better on a chopped 5Window than a 3Window.

I've always liked the 5 window better, I'll take mine un-chopped also.
