Does anyone have any shots of 670-15 tires on early '50s Chevys?? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Not an early 50's but my wagon is running 670-15. Got some pics in my album if you wanna take a look. Nice car btw, looks like you came up on that trade.
That's the "go-to" tire size for these. On a 15" x 6" steelie, with a cover, or a spider cap, you are ready to roll.
Just got a set of those tires and have 15x6 artillery wheels for my '48 Fleetline. I can't wait to get them put on!
Big 6.70 x 15s really help proportion our early Chevy bathtub bodies, but be cautioned that our wheel openings are rather smallish compared to Fords and Mercs of the same era. My Chevy is on a mid 70s Monte Carlo chassis with 2" wider track width and somewhat misaligned wheelbase, and my turning radius with 6.70 x 15s if very limited.
Here's a couple of older pics. Goodyear Super Cushion 6.70 x 15's with a 4" whitewall. I love these tires!
Wow thanks a lot guys, what a beautiful bunch of cars! I used them on my '53 Buick Special years ago and I loved how they filled the wells, but now I am doing a '50 Chevy and wondered how they'd look! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
670-15s were the standard size tires for your 50 Chevy. Refer to link: http://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/1950/339905/chevrolet_styleline_deluxe_4-door_sedan.html
I think they'll look good on mine By the way-thank you Tom Davidson! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I just mounted the 670 x 15 tires and flipper hubcaps on my '48. The car has 2" lowering blocks and the front is unaltered. Let me know what you think.
