So I'm working on the 51 Woody...Replacing the door glass fuzzies that brush against the door glass. So after 63 years the reatining clips are no good... Looked in my Dennis Carpenter catalog, and Bob Drake... with no luck... Does anyone know were to get them or what may work instead ? Will putting the passenger door back together next week... Maybe someone has the Ford part number I could search for.. Thanks Ole Redwood
If they are like the truck retainers, Vintiques has the best I've found so far: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-35-36-...d=100011&prg=9723&rk=2&rkt=5&sd=290862074529&
I pop rivered mine on right thru the fuzz and then painted the heads black you really can't see them ... good luck
The vintique ones are pretty nice and I just used them and some very small black oxide sheet metal screws for the garnish moulding side rather than the factory "staple" fasteners. Both came from Vintiques and worked great.
When I worked at a Ford dealership we called them cat wiskers. I think that was a universal name for them around this area.
Thanks guys if anyone has a part number they can share with me that would be great... These are more a " S " style clip...these crimp over the wisker brush LIke the truck and 36-39 Ford clip, but slide over the top edge of the sheet metal on the door frame...
I have a window felt kit in front of me that was sold by Dale's Manufacturing Co. a complete kit for 49 thru 51 ford Convertible, their part # is 8A-7621452-3-K. They make this they should know about your clips. Their # is 405 631-8988
