Technical Delco lever arm shocks

    Can the arms be cut and welded? I need to shorten the arms on my pair for the rear.

    well I guess anything is possible but why not just use modern shocks. I have a 41 olds that had the lever action shocks and I took them off and put on monroes just fabbed in the hangers made a world of difference in the ride and handling.

    I just welded a shock link on my 47. Couldn't find the right ones - so I modified what I could find.
    I chose to make a diagonal cut - thinking it'd be stronger that way.

    Ok, I just didn't know if the arms were forged or cast.
