Some lifters ride off center on the cam lobe making them turn.
Fairburn Dragstrip and Senoia Speedway.
I believe the cracks are from being hit, not stress. I would weld it up and go.
A lot of times the snout on front of the transmission wears out from the throw out bearing riding on it. I always check that when replacing clutch.
Dashpot?
Nice job. I did a forty dash in a 1931. Lots of time.

If it is safety glass (laminated) a good glass man should be able to cut it. Yes, it would be best to make a pattern.
Tried one. No change from stock.

Worked great for me. A.C. vent and controls. Have to remove dash to install.
Run it until it leaks.
