The Jalopy Journal
FYI- After tearing it apart about a dozen times, I fixed whatever was wrong with it. I have no idea what was the problem, but it’s back to running...
That’s what I had on my ‘31.
I installed an exhaust cutout and used Model A brake linkage and a cut down Model A brake cross shaft to make a floor mounted operation lever.....
I suspect it’s due to the the cable being less than two feet long and almost being a straight shot, but maybe it’s something much more serious.
I didn’t try that, but the little clip I made works fine.
I fixed my choke cable problem. I used a left over brake hardware spring, bent to shape. The cable won’t move on it’s own anymore.
@ironanddeals on Instagram has a decent looking ‘32 one right now for $75 shipped
Did you set it to 0 at idle?
Do you have any ideas on how to do it with the head on? How about a nut with a long piece of safety wire?
I double checked that with the dial indicator, while I had the head off.
When I got to my office, the choke was half closed. It's only a couple mile drive. I'm gonna have to devise a clip of some sort to hold the choke...
Thanks for the link. I just ordered up one from Sammy. He's a great new Model A connection for me.
