Yes, the 232 head was actually used on the 308 7X race engines, I just opted for a little less with the 262 head because I didn't want any issues...

I had planned on wide whites all along, and just put the blackwalls on it as temporary, but I'm really liking them now.
The 308, 262 and 232 heads from 51 to 54 are interchangeable.

TH400 will not bolt up, crank flange is different as well as bolt pattern, original trans is the Hydramatic. Have you tried adjusting the TV rod?
