Hey guys, if you want to see something different in a roadster, we just finished Richi's roadster. It's all geared up for climate change, being in so.cal. , we are truly spoiled. We are lucky if we get a month of rain down here, In Germany, it's the other way around, you're lucky if you get a month of sunshine a year and you have to meet some really strict safety codes, which makes this 31 roadster on deuce rails a little different then most.

Beautiful roadster. What color is it?

  17. I thought you had to have fenders in Germany. Guess I was wrong.

  18. Look closely, Tom.
    It has fenders!

  19. By golly it does. It's still early down here in Carolina, my eyes aren't dialed in yet.

Well to start the story, My friend and fellow club member Stefan aka grease machine ships a lot of vintage cars to Europe and he got a call from German Lifter Jens, his friend Richi wanted a roadster built that he could drive around Europe so he gave Stefan the specs and carte blanc to build him a roadster. So the hunt was on, Stefan gave me a ring and we called Justin B, Justin always has some kind of roaster project going and he just happen to have a 31 roadster body that was half original and half brookville on a gennie 32 frame, the rear end was forty but still needed to be cut down and had a cool old dropped axle and a 1953 8BA flathead.
So a deal was struck and Stefan picked up the project.
we will try to dig up some earlier pics and show the build.

I love everything about that car. Is that a '34 truck grille?

The front fenders are made from the spare tire cover of a 36 Ford. They are cut very short just to meet the German requirements. The rear fender came from a hotrod, I bought them used. We had to modify the brackets tho.

My friend wanted the white wall look on the roadster and I decided to go all the way to give it the late 40s early 50s look with the super wide whites. They are Lester tires, 600/16 in front and 750/16 in the back. Not cheap tho..., but Firestones aren't cheap either... Lucas Tires in Long beach sells them.
