Nice work on the hood. I have a similar opening (w/one piece hood) to yours. Would you be able to take some pics on the workings of it? I need to make some adjustments to make it work easier

 

Amazing simply amazing...

 

sure of course i can.Do you have the same deal where the end of the hood style line meets the back of the grille and so has to lift over before moving forward? to stop the hood tips clashing with the back of the grille i had to make a 'spring plate' to push the hood up before going forward and acts the same in reverse.
Thats why you see most forward moving hoods totally flat at the base,so much easier,i wish i had talked the owners into this look!

we are putting it back together real soon and ill post you as many angles as possible.

I had a full plate just building & running the 37' for 8 yrs

No time to build another car or bucks either

I lucked out in 63' when my aunt bought a new car and I bought her very clean 56' Chrysler 2 dr hard top

The met. blue was the color I painted the coupe and it was trimmed in light blue, so it hade a great tow car as I just put a hitch and pipes on it

when i bought my truck the 3 internal supports in the back of the cab were twisted out of shape and loose from the skin of the cab.i cut them out with the intention of replacing them with new metal.howeveri am unsure of the correct shape.how would you describe the shape of the cab below the beltline straight with rounded corners or curved with rounded corners.

i have never seen another 38 pu in the flesh. i dont think there is another in this country

the problem with threads like these is people see everything all smooth with no evidence of the weld seam and want their project to look the same even though their welds and fitment do not match what is going on here. then they grind the weld area paper thin in an effort to fool people into thinking their work is this good. working on a car right now where every patch installed by the other guy is ground all to hell with tiny pinholes and paper thin metal which was warped by the heat generated with their aggressive grinding...
