My brother has lusted after a neighbor's old model a for about 10 years. Ross has tried to buy it multiple times, but the old man wouldn't sell it, because he wanted to save it for his kids. Well, the neighbor died a few months ago, and the family just sold my brother the car, as none of them had a place to put it, or a particular desire to own it. It's a 29 model a sedan - 1 owner! Total modifications include an engine rebuild in 1987 (stock), and a repaint in 2011 to factory colors. It has been driven daily up until last fall. He paid the princely sum of $6000! How awesome is that?

Plans are currently to leave it alone, as it is in such good condition. I started talking about offy heads and roof chops until I saw the pics. This one should probably be left stock. Pics to follow if you want to see them.

Pretty amazing. The owner must have been well over 100 years old if he bought it new.

not every car should be hotrodded. keep that one stock, dont even transfer the title, and if you do keep the old one if you can.

Wow, the owner would have been 101 if he bought it at age 16! Sounds like a great deal, I agree, it should stay a stocker.

If you do any changes make them bolt on changes. Keep all the original parts.

Is it a Tudor or Fordor? Sedan is a general term.

It is nice to capture a car in your own neighborhood. A one-owner Model A from 1931 is 83 years old so your brother's neighbor would have been at least 103 IF he was 20 we purchasing the car NEW.
The title would be the indicator there. No matter though, a nice story, true or not, attached to a nice car doesn't change the value of the car.

Don't listen to the old women on this board. There are thousands of restored Model A' out there. If you want a hot rod......make one out of it. Just try to avoid the "chop the shit out of it" or "it will make a nice rat rod" line of thinking and you will end up with a nicely built traditional hot rod that will more than likely be worth more than a restored stocker.

The OP robably shouldn't make a hot rod out of his brothers car unless his brother agrees to it.
