This may be a dumb question. In a local classifieds there is an ad for a "wide body model a". Can anyone explain to me what that is? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I've heard of a widebedModel A truck but not a widebody but I am no expert on model A's Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It might be the difference if any between a Briggs and a Murray body or it may be a town sedan body. The Briggs bodys having straight across door tops while the Murray bodys had a slightly curved shape to the top of the door for the window opening. You might search the Model A clubs websites a bit and see if you can pick up some idea of the difference.
Aren't some of the Briggs and Murray bodies larger than standard Ford bodies? Could be a Murray or Briggs body.
A Briggs body has a curve at the top of the side window(on the door) if my memory serves me correct. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That is what I was thinking. The guy was thinking of the phrase and wrote "wide body" instead of "blind back". Boy, am I stretching here. Neal
Yep, it's obvious from the cowl. Some call it a town sedan. I've not personally owned one of that body style, so I'm not sure if the subrails are wood or steel? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Some Fordor bodies are wider across the "shoulders" with the fenders tucked farther in than the other bodies. The overall width of the body and fenders remain the same and take the same chassis parts.
That's a good thing for the guy who is seriously thinking about buying it though. Photos of that quality saved me a lot of money on my sailboat when I bought it due to reduced competition.
Probably just a redneck way of meaning its not a coupe. Its a "wide body" Edit.. didn't mean to quote mr48chev Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Me thinks the only difference on the hood, is the body line extends onto the hood similar to a 30-31, and the fire wall has two horizontal lines of nuts/bolts. Hoods are direct fit, to other 28-29, but look weird. ask the poster, probably inherited it.
