Projects 56 ford Firlane Kustom grille ideas????

Im building a mild Kustom of my 56 vicky.I dont want a tube grilleanybody got pics? ideas? Im already doing 56 Olds headlight rings.Tailights id like to use 55-56 Merc SW s but dont want to sell my firstborn to afford them!

I have seen 55 and 56 Desoto GRILLES in 55 & 56 Fords---look pretty good.

 

Good luck finding a complete 56 Meteor grille without selling your left nut. A 55 Plymouth grille looks good in there, and not used that often.

 

How about something really different? See Pic below,if you could find a Kaiser grille.

 

Yeah...finding 55-56 meteor parts and finding a seller that is willing to part with them is just as hard as finding the mercury pick up parts. I'm just goimg to run an old tune grill on my 56 that was made way back when

 

A lot of the custom guys from that era used kitchen cabinet knobs

 

I want to cry every time I see/hear about 56 Meteors. Had a 56 Meteor Crown Vic back in 68. Loved that car esp. the grille. I was kinda out of step back then, everyone was driving factory muscle cars. Had to sell it when I got drafted.

 

Honestly....I think the knob grills are over done now a days along withn scallops. Just me..

 

I wish I had that car!

The problem with them is you need to cut off the lower part of the fender in front od the wheel well, and unless you section it, it sticks out a bit on each side.
