Cotton painted it black and sold the rolling chassis to Danny Davis in about 1985, a street rod builder in California. Not sure what he did with it when he owned it, but he latter sold it to Todd Patterson. All the good suspension stuff that made that car what it was is long gone. Cotton still has the trunk lid off of the car with all the wild paint job and graphics on it.

No, im talking about the car shown in post #897, Danny bought it from Cotton in the mid 80's, it was built by the late Pat Curran from Missouri. I can't get your link to open, but its probably the car that was featured in Car Craft in the late 70's that was called the "Mail Order Super Stocker". His brother Darren drove it and did pretty good with it. Cotton's car was the inspiration for Danny building that Super Stocker, he always liked it, plus it was legendary, that's why he bought it when it can up for sale.

Probably because it's a GIF image not a jpeg.

Leo Also got his into the 8s that same week end. Gary's Nova has ran low 14s in the past. He had a fresh motor for his chevyII but ran into a few small problem so he pulled it back out and drop in a motor that was way over due for a rebuild itself and Smoked like Bug control if you know what I mean LOL. We ran into a small problem with the clutch Due to a crank bolt backing out and the disk went A-wall you could say.(wiped out the damping springs in the disk ) again a tired motor it self . But we got the cars into the low 15s knocking on the 14's If I would not have had the issue with the bolt I think the next pass would have gotten the 14's. When we started that week end I had some carb issue at first Got that fixed Then I had Oil coming up the Dist. shaft.
And I could not get the car to hook-up I was to afraid to over heat the dried out tires.
But bottom line was We all had a Great time. After the rain had stopped. ( it rain most of Saturday morning till about 11.)
But anyway the new disk is in and it's ready for next Year. And I'm hoping to have my fresh motor in and New tires for next season.

  24. ^^^^^^^^^I've never been around Webers. Are they really as "magic" as everyone seems to think?

Not "magic' just really adjustable (venturi sizes, fuel jets, air jets, emulsion tubes, etc, etc) and in some cases IR set-ups like fuel injection...
