Features Ford Thunderbolts Photos Wanted

This was the Winter Nats, Pomona 1965 and the T-bolts were old news by then... Gas Ronda had sold his T-bolt by then even though it still had the Russ Davis paint scheme. Tasca had the "new" Mustang there along with Ronda, Bonner, Brannan. The Mustangs were known for breaking axles at this event but Tasca/Lawton came through and won AFX.

 

The 2nd and 3rd T-Bolts in post #3573 appear to be the same car and it appears to be the Bob Ford T-Bolt #2. The "Quick Draw" car in post # 3570 is light yellow in color and is the former Wake Forest T-Bolt--(according to my source-L.F.) Syl

 

For what it's worth, this is from the Waterloo (Iowa) Daily Courier of July 10, 1964. Sorry for the lousy image. The relevant info is in the third graf. No mention of the car in the race results. The ad is from a Bill Moyer car lot in Des Moines. I don't know if it's the same guy. I'd bet it is.

great picture of the Georgia Shaker! Notice the optional rocker panel trim? odd that the trim would be installed onto a T-Bolt.

good footage of the McLennan Motors T-bolt (before it was stretched/altered?) and the Musgrove Ford T-bolt. I have seen some photos of the McLennan motors (New Westminster BC?) car before but never knew about the Musgrove car? Musgrove Ford was a local dealer here in Vancouver BC. What is the history on these cars?

I never noticed that the "Lil Georgia Shaker" T-Bolt had rocker panel moldings. Here is a picture of it in the pits at the Indy Nationals in 1964 and it does have the rocker panel moldings. Maybe that's why the car looked so good.

That's definately it. Note the "Vancouver BC" written under "THUNDERBOLT" is in the same location. Also same front rims, and no front bumper.

The McClennan Ford Thunderbolt,was owned by Gary Wanless.It was formerly Bill Ireland's car.

 

Not sure if this has been posted but here's a shot of the Brannan T-Bolt in a 4 car race York US 30 Aug 64. Out of these 4 cars which one do you think would be worth the most in todays world. I'am thinking the Thunderbolt because of production numbers and of course this is a Thunderbolt thread I guess all the cars would have racing History

"NO" The Butch Leal T-Bolt was always Maroon . Does anyone have any pics of the cloverleaf hood-scoop ?

 

Check out post #10 on the first page of this thread. There is a photo of Gas Ronda's T-Bolt with the cloverleaf hood. It was called a cloverleaf hood because it was shaped to clear the oval air box and the ram tubes coming in each side, just like a 4-leaf clover.

Tasca/Lawton was not racing Jenkins that day. They were racing Bud Faubel. Jenkins was doing Bud's engines at the time. Bud passed away yesterday. He was quite the man and will be missed.
