So, im heading for the US..

in 10 days im going from Norway to LA (and Vegas) and i was wondering if there is anything i might want to look at there? everything from car''graveyards'' to parts suplys? or mayby just somthing cool? anny tips? wil be staying in the US for about 10 days...

 

your missing the 2 biggest swap meets in carlise pa and hershey pa, change your travel plans and go to the swap meets

la is over rated, vegas is vegas

 

when are the swapmeets? i can only leave this 10 days.. (school break)

Hershey and Carlisle in Pennsylvania are 'the' things you have to see as a
European citizen and hotrod or classic car owner (just my opinion).
I visited Hershey 3 times (1999, 2001 and 2006) and brought home a lot of goodies.

the Peterson museum in LA, the NHRA museum in Pomona, vegas there is the imperial palace car collection. the Shelby factory is not far from vegas. we did atv's in the valley of fire park isn't far from vegas and neat scenery. rt 66 museum in kingman ariz1 I believe was ok. atomic energy museum was different and right off the strip in vegas

Check out the neathercut museum in slymar. It's free but you have to call and make a reservation. It's easy. Plus it's a bitchin collection of old perfectly restored rare cars!!

the carlise swap meet is in carlise pa. run by carlise prodcutions

the hershey meet is in hershey pa run by the aaca it is 40 miles from carlise so you can use the same hotel, the hershey meet is 4 days after carlise so it is one big meet with a few rest days

note: the west coast guys just do not understand what a swap meet is

carlise has 8000 swap spaces and hershey 10,400 spaces

In LA, be SURE to visit Ford obsolete in Rosemead...a combination speed shop and museum of old hotrod stuff!
Then, report that the US put you into Guantanamo for a couple weeks because they confuse Norwegian with Arabic, and come out to this coast for Hershey!

You can check out the L.A county Fair which is home to the NHRA museum. Last day is the 29 of Sept.
