Ebay won't let me copy this picture, so I took this with my camera..hence a bit skewed...
    But talk about cool !!
Would love to have this thing..
It is only 15' long and ~10' high, so not a monster..
Has a 4 speed with a flathead six in it !!
Wish it were closer...it is in Montana...

Cool, but.....a cement truck is now considered a traditional hotrod?

Doesn't have to end up being a cement truck.. I think a good rebuild with a flat bed on the back or maybe add a sleeper cab behind cab and a tractor/trailer hitch and make it a "cool hauler" out of it:cool:

  9. You could always scrap the back half (mixer and bed) and use the money for the project or beer!

I would make a Pig Roaster out of it and use it at Famoso.

Do the concrete delivery companies in the country still have trucks of this size? I never see any. I think every company should have one for smaller or tighter jobs. Every time I need concrete a truck the size of the Hindenberg shows up & lays waste to the area. Maybe Ford can fill a niche? If they do, they can use the same styling...worked before..can work again. ~ Is that a true C.O.E.? It looks more like a "Cab Over Transmission."

Whew, I thought you were being a chapass just for the sake of being a chapass.

That truck looks like it BELONGS in the Disney "Cars" movies!

An International Loadstar Waste Management garbage truck used to show up at the Woodward Cruise in Detroit. It was a really short wheelbase and had, I think, a mean sounding big block Chevy. The back was converted to a camper, although I never really got close.

One year the guy was pulling the front wheels, or nearly so, on Woodward.

Haven't been there for a couple years, so I don't know if the guy still comes out to play.

:D gotta have some fun every once in a while. :D

  26. That thing is in, remarkably, nice condition. The door fit is perfect, the bumper and grille aren't all beat up, the chute is still there, etc. Stick a new engine in it, give it a good going over and she'd be ready to go back to work.

Pretty much, but they are mobile mix units, I think they can mix up to four yards on the spot. I have used them several times for small jobs and citys' like them for side walks and such..There also was trailers you could haul yourself with mayb a yard or two..As far as being a real COE, I think so..The noses grew some from the early years, not sure of reason....

I will bet that somewhere in the Hamb world there at least one traditional rod that started off as a cement truck.:D

  30. Screw the edsel...The concrete truck is cool. But since I am an old retired concrete contractor, why would'nt I like it....If you were to restor it, you would most likey have to spend a few days inside the drum jackhammering out all the concrete stuck to the insides of the drum.
