Sorry I haven't read all 451 pages of this thread lol, so if this has been posted I apologize.

I found this video and posted it here on the board. I should have posted it here, but had forgotten about this thread. Anyway there are a lot of vintage racing shots in it. 1941 and maybe a little earlier.

Here is one of 2 Panhard specials built for breaking records.There was a 5 litre version and another with a 1.5 litre engine.They were built in 1925 - 26 and called the Razor Blade or Le Lame de Rasoir.

On October 12th,1926 driver Marius Breton was involved in a fatal crash at Montlhery with the 5 litre car.However the car did go 214 KMH.The factory ordered the 1.5 litre car parked.It was being raced at Brooklands in England,driven by Ortmans.The 1.5 litre car survived in a corner at the factory until about 1940.

 

When I first looked at the Razor pics I thought the front axle looked to be rigid-mounted to the frame. I really like how the louvered frame skirts hide the front springs. I'll file that away for maybe future use.

1923 Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuito de Terramar,Sitges.This race course still exists near Barcelona.Although it is not in the best shape,there have been some events held there in the recent past.It looks like conditions might improve for more events in the future.You can find it on google earth.

1906 was quite a year. Park this next to the 1906 Premier and Maxwell and you have ....all the elements of a 1965 Porsche 911 engine. Is this the car that Rickenbacher drove ?

and his glamorous Argentine wife Chelita Howard who was a secretary in the Automovil Club Argentino, they were introduced when he came here to race. She was very, but very pritty acording to Bitito Mieres. Again I have passed the 1944 limit.Sorry.

 

There are several great events that I'd love to attend, that are on my "Bucket List". The Isle of Mann TT, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans are just a couple that immediately come to mind.

Thanks ehdubya, I had to hang back a bit cause the other cars could stop quicker than me and I didn't fancy running into them. It was a great weekend, there was a 24 car field in my races of all cars up to 1960.
