Didn't find what I'm looking for. In any case a new one needs to pop up every couple years. I'm talkin 55-65 style, Wild, crazy, classy, sassy Interiors. Angel hair, unicorn pubes, TVs, minibars, phones, swivel seats, tuck n rolls, diamonds...dig? New cars are fine, as long as its made to be like back in the day Examples: Older build (Golden Sahara, 1 of my favs) Newer build (Masterson built shoebox, unfortunately no longer around) Ok GO!
Should be a good thread. The only pictures I have to contribute are the more conservative tuck n roll jobs with chrome dashes etc. of the 47-53 era.
Check out the "White Interiors" Thread. Some good show car stuff in there. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=769077&showall=1
sweet my kinda thread, im hoping to get 12 of those seats like the one above soon from local veterinarian, they are remodeling
problem with the threads that i like is that they seem to die down quickly...nobody interested in real kustoms anymore, everybody likes the same old mild stuff over and over again and heres another to attempt to keep it going...
This is the interior of The Raven. The color is a unique shade of turquoise that we had to have custom Lacquer died at a tannery in Argentina. Lacquer died leather is unavailable in the U.S. and Arthur Bentas, who built the car in the 50's, was a nitpicker about me getting the color correct. I am so glad he did because the interior is absolutely stunning when seen up close and personal. My niece, Elizabeth Small did the stitching using three big hides. She actually did a better job of stitching the leather than what was originally done back in the 50's. Her double stitched rows are perfectly straight and every stitch lines up perfectly with the adjacent stitch. And no, she did not use a double row machine. She stitched each row one at a time. Unheard of these days, but we also painted the car with Lacquer paint. Joe
I love a cool interior. It's where you spend all your time when your with your car. I am trying to form a cool plan for the interior of my 60' Impala. I think it already has a pretty damn cool one -one of the main reasons I bought it. I want to go buckets with a center console. My dream is to make a center console out of metal with trim and stuff to make it look like it came that way from the factory. I am always amazed by beautiful cars, with countless hours of exterior body mods... ...then you look inside and find a late model steering column with a squarish crappy vinyl covered plywood console. Awesome! I tried starting a thread like this a few years ago and it died quick. I hope this one grows! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
